Retro Commissioning / Continuous Commissioning
Retro commissioning is the process of commissioning existing buildings that may have never been commissioned and are performing well below their potential. The process is somewhat different, but the benefits are the same: improved occupant comfort, enhanced energy efficiency, lower utility costs and improved maintenance. KLG Jones brings years of experience along with a large inventory of calibrated test equipment to systematically optimize building systems to operate efficiently and in accordance with the original design intent.
Many buildings are experiencing problems with temperature, humidity, and indoor air quality, mold or moisture intrusion. Others simply have utility bills that are higher than they should be or suffer from poor long-term maintenance. All are candidates for retro commissioning which can provide attractive, and sometimes dramatic, returns to building owners.
