Commissioning is a formal quality assurance process in use throughout the building construction industry. Commissioning most frequently focuses on the mechanical, electrical, telecomm/data and low voltage systems in buildings, but it can also be applied to any system, including the building envelope.
Commissioning ideally begins at the programming or the earliest stages of design and typically continues for at least a year after the completion of construction. It is a process that helps to ensure that high performance buildings and systems are designed, built and tested to meet the owner’s specific operational needs, including ongoing maintainability. It is a process that identifies and corrects functional problems before the owner moves in.
KLG Jones brings over 17 years of experience and rigor to the commissioning process on behalf of our clients. Our goal is to be an integral part of the construction team on the Owner’s behalf—to assist contractors in building quality into their work, not to hinder them. We help ensure that buildings work! |
